How Will Kathy's House Be Funded?
Through tax deductible donations from individuals, charitable organizations and churches, Kathy's House hopes to welcome it's first residents by the end of 2001.
The expected cost of purchasing and furnishing the home is $350,000. Ongoing costs such as insurance, upkeep, house parents' salaries and supplies are budgeted at $60,000 annually. While each resident of Kathy's House will be eligible for limited state financial assistance to help, we anticipate a need for ongoing charitable contributions to maintain the standard of living we hope our women will achieve.

What About Existing Group Homes?
There are currently about 200 adults in Pinellas County, Florida awaiting placement in group homes. The wait normally lasts five to ten years. The state of Florida and the county are extremely anxious for independents to take the initiative in creating new private group homes.
