It
is with awe and deepest thanksgiving that we update you
on the status of our beloved Kathy's House project. Certainly
God has shown Himself mighty in His timing and gracious
provisions. We actually have property, plans, and hearts
prepared for action! It is truly incredible what God has
done!
You
might remember that we were in a "holding pattern"
while waiting to align with the Upper Pinellas Association
for Retarded Citizens (UPARC). Though UPARC has been supportive
of our efforts, they have undergone significant budget constraints
throughout the past three years, which have impacted their
ability to move forward with this project.
Well,
lo and behold, Mike Bronson recently met up with a gentleman
and his wife, Carl and Kathy Minieri, who will enable Kathy's
House to become a reality. Carl and Kathy have a son of
their own who is soon to be in need of a group home. Carl
had already purchased land in Crystal Beach and was interested
in building a six-resident home for his son and two of his
son's life-long friends. Carl has had a positive relationship
with UPARC for many years and has maintained strong convictions
that he would like to continue working in alliance with
that wonderful organization.
Upon
learning of an opportunity to work in unison with Carl and
Kathy, recognizing their VAST investment in the project,
the Kathy's House Board unanimously approved further collaboration.
At present, it appears that Kathy's House will be a QUALITY
HOME for two young men and four young women. We anticipate
it will be up and running in 2005, thanks to God's AMAZING
grace; YOUR continued prayer and financial support; the
generous donations of Robert Walter, the Walter Foundation,
and First Christian Church of Tarpon Springs; and the willing
hearts and EXTRAORDINARY generosity of the Minieris.
Should
anyone ever question whether God cares about our important
details, this project will forever be known to us as Kathy's
House, in memory of our precious Kathy.
Now
to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we
ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work
within us, to Him be glory in the Church and in Christ
Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! (Eph.
3:20)
With
a grateful and humble heart,
Gayle
